Kalakoda Promotions in proud association with Kwesé Sport and the First Nations Project presents Kings of the Castle on the 28th of September at the iconic Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, venue partner to this prestigious event. This event falls within the Friday Fight Night series, a fixed calendar of broadcast boxing dates staged at different African cities the last Friday of every month.

The night is headlined with the coveted South African Light Heavyweight Title. The vacant belt is contested by Cape Town local, Nicholas Radley and Khayeni Hlungwane of Johannesburg. Radley, the current WBF Africa Champion, who withdrew two months prior due to injury is now fit and ready to go.

“Can’t wait to get in there and mix it with Hlungwane, he is an experienced campaigner and I’ll have to be at my best on the 28th – this will be a real test for me, but I’m ready and up for the challenge and this fight will bring out the best in me” – Nicholas Radley  SA Lightheavyweight Contender

The co-main event sees crowd favorite David Rajuili take on Tanzania’s Jonas Segu for Rajuili’s WBF Lightweight title. Rajuili fought Segu previously this year to a disputed decsion and a rematch contest has been brewing. This promises to be a very competitive match up, the two former sparring partners know each other well and will be keen to get one over with insults and jibes going back on forth already.

The Castle is very excited to be working with Kalakoda Promotions and the First Nations Project on this event and anticipate that this will be the first event of many, positioning the Castle of Good Hope as the new home of boxing in the Cape.

The remainder of the card features SA prospect of the year 2017 and ABU Lightweight Champion, Lunga Sitemela in an 8 round contest with Thembani Hobyani,  WBF Africa Featherweight Champion Baby Jake Mbangatha take on Tanzanian hard man Hamish Galuka in a non title bout as well as an exciting International Heavyweight match up between Cameroon’s Nico Yamdjie and Slovenian prospect Haris Aksalic. Kalakoda promotions has a long history of focussing on the bigger divisions and has brought out Aksalic to South Africa to work under the tutelage of James Ali Basheer.

“This event is going to be epic, open air boxing and in one of oldest buildings of Africa with Table Mountain as a backdrop, we have an awesome fight card, with representation from across Africa with some local favorites, I urge fight fans not to miss out, this will be an event not to be missed.”  – Jeremy Bean Kalakoda Promotions

Additional entertainment and the beats between rounds will be provided by DJ Lyle and a surprise closing performance to be announced soon. Tickets go on sale from the 2nd of September through select resellers.
