Playtopia is South Africa’s first indie gaming and interactive arts festival, showcasing local and international independent computer games, interactive and digital art, as well as an impressive music line-up.
Guests can expect three days of gaming, art, music, food trucks and a beer garden in the historical setting of The Castle of Good Hope. Delegate tickets allow access into the talks, panels and workshops led by gaming industry experts. Exhibitions by some of SA’s top interactive artists, 30+ alternative indie games, a Super Friendship Arcade room with games played on custom controllers, VR rooms and the international exhibition “Digital Gardens”, created by A MAZE./Berlin. Guests also play with Ralph Borland’s robots, engage with the sensory art of Miranda Moss and Martin Wilson, marvel at the projection art of global artist Inka Kendzia and walk through the yarn art of embroidery artist Danielle Clough, along with various other artists showcasing custom designed playful objects.
The music line-up features Hello Beautiful, Haezer, Julia Robert, DJ Invizible, Uppercut, ANG and more.
